We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Human Resources Coordinator. As a Human Resources Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the ministry in various administrative tasks and ensuring the smooth operation of HR processes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in the field of human resources.
Objective of the position: Efficiently and effectively equip staff (paid and volunteer) to serve with excellence.
Reports to: Director of Business Management
Supervises: none
Status: Part-time, 30 hours per week, hourly position
Scheduled hours: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm, Monday – Friday with occasional early morning, evenings and weekends
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or a related field or equivalent work experience desired
Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, organization and problem-solving skills, and highly proficient in Microsoft Office
Qualifications:
  • Be a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
  • Exhibit a strong commitment and dedication to the pro-life position
  • Agree with and be willing to uphold the Statement of Principle, Statement of Faith, and the policies and procedures of Hope Rising
  • Be able to respect and keep information confidential
  • Complete the volunteer training and position orientation
  • Be able to carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision
  • Be able to provide spiritual leadership, discipleship, and support to volunteers and staff
  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • Be able to commute to all centers
Essential functions:
  • Ensures efficient recruitment process for new staff including:
    • Recruitment, interviewing, tracking the status of candidates, and communicating with candidates
    • Submitting online investig ation requests and background checks
    • Verifying references and credentials
    • Writing offer letters
  • Ensures efficient hiring process of new staff members including;
    • Prepare new-employee files
    • Completion of Forms I-9, verifying I-9 documentation and maintaining I-9 files
    • Processing required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions
  • Ensures efficient onboarding of new staff members
  • Annually review and, if necessary, update employee application forms, reference forms, interview itineraries, and other employment-related documents including but not limited to statements of faith, corporate policies, and organizational chart
  • Maintain current records of all employees, job descriptions, and status within the organization
  • Develop and maintain an effective communication system for all staff and volunteers
  • Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions
  • Reconcile benefits statements
  • Conduct audits of payroll, benefits, and other HR programs and recommend corrective action
  • Assist with processing of terminations
  • Prepare performance review process and ensure that all staff receive annual evaluation
  • Evaluate staff’s professional development needs and identify training opportunities
  • Establish ongoing training protocol and increase professional development engagement (starting October 2024 with completion in October 2025)
  • Oversee planning of staff events such as Christmas party, volunteer appreciation week, and First Fruits.
  • Make photocopies; mail, scan, and email documents; and perform other clerical functions
  • File documents into appropriate employee files
  • Assist or prepare correspondence as needed
  • Administer health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Other duties:
  • Continually update the Human Resources Coordinator Job Manual and Timeline
  • Develop annual Human Resources budget
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for Human Resources
  • Provide monthly written reports (by the 9th of every month) to the Director of Business Management
  • Provide statistics as needed
  • Complete annual human resource assessment
  • Research the latest information and best practices in human resources and employee engagement
  • Attend and participate in monthly Staff meetings held on the second Thursday of the month
  • Other duties assigned by the Director of Business Management or Executive Director
Physical and mental requirements:
  • Visual and auditory accuracy
  • Continuous use of computer
  • Frequent use of telephone
  • Continuous repetitive grasping and manipulation of both hands
  • Continuous conversational communication
  • Reaching, walking, squatting, bending, kneeling, twisting and climbing
  • Frequent use of a personal car (mileage reimbursement is available)
  • Understand/carry out simple/detailed, oral/written instructions
  • Memorize and retain instructions
  • Read and interpret detailed specifications
  • Frequent lifting of 20 lbs. or more
The Human Resources Coordinator shall receive at least one annual written and oral evaluation by the Director of Business Management.
This position is eligible for paid time off, holiday pay, and retirement plan match.
